As soon as Yoast took it over it became a severe eyesore.

No, I am not going to join your mailing list.
No, I don’t need to be thanked for using a tool.
NO, I don’t need your damn brand everywhere on the backend.

    Hi @opus13i,
just to clarify, the update notice was present in every recent version of Duplicate Post since 3.0 (October 2016), it was not introduced in this version.
It can be dismissed with a click on the X in its upper right corner.
Joining the mailing list is completely optional and it’s offered as a useful mean to be informed about the updates of the plugin, since the notice is probably going to be retired
Also, the notice does not contain any “thank you” message… Can you explain what you are referring to?
    Thanks for your feedback!

The ‘thank you’ reference was meant to be more of a general statement around the modern trend of having backend messages that are pointless. If I am setting up a site, the last thing I need is yet another pointless block appearing distracting me from performing what I need to do.

    It’s annoying.

Just updated again, and yeah, the notice to subscribe is still there.

    Hi @opus13i
What do you mean by “updated again”? A new version hasn’t been released yet.

I updated a friends site that hadn’t been upgraded in a while, and the notice showed.

    Hi @opus13i,
that’s because it’s an upgrade notice.
