Use the configured Media link if no oik custom link is specified (7 posts)

Thank you very much for this plugin!

Would it be possible to make the images in the slides point to the link configured on the Media page, if the custom oik link is not specified.

In my case I need the images to link to actual media file, instead of the attachment page (which seems to be what oik-nivo-slider uses by default), so that a lightbox plugin correctly picks the images to be opened in a modal popup, not on a separate page.

I hope this change would be not too difficult for you, as it will allow the slideshow to fully work as I would expect it.

Thank you again very much for the useful and convenient plugin!

    Best regards,

Hi, I take it you have you seen this page where I demonstrate oik-nivo slider and images being displayed in fancybox but would like a simpler solution.

Yours is a good suggestion. I'll look into it AND also try to figure out why the attachment page opening in the iframe is not working visitors.
I believe that currently it's just showing jetpack's smiley face!

hi, there is now a new version of the oik-nivo-slider in alpha test on oik-plugins.co.uk

It matches the development version of the code.

To display the selected image in a fancybox you would use the following shortcodes, with the link=file parameter option to force each link to be to the image not the attachment page.

    [bw_jq ".ancybox a" fancybox script=fancybox-1.3.4]
    [nivo class=ancybox link=file id=289,290]

here I am selecting two specific images.

Note: You'll need oik version 2.0 for [bw_jq]

oik-nivo-slider v1.9 is now available to download from WordPress.org

Note: as an aside there is also a fix in the oik base plugin which allows the box effect transitions to work as designed. Download v2.0.1 from wordpress.org

Hi, sorry for long delay, could not get around to test this.

I do very much like how it looks with the Fancybox! Is it part of WordPress, so reliable to use? (I've used Lightbox Plus before)

Thank you again for your help and response!

By the way, id=289,290 does not work from your example, only shows the first id, so I replaced with include="289,290".
