Support » Plugin: Socialauth-WordPress » Use Socialauth-WordPress in cluster (session problem)

  • I would like to use your awesome plugin in my clustered environment. In my configuration, the server which starts the session could be not the same server which receive back the authentication. This generate errors due to sessions handlings.

    Could you suggest some workarounds?

    Best regards, Francesco.

    Hi dadahtml,

    Apologies for delayed response on this. We have never tested this on clustering but we can try to implement some workaround in there for you.

    Let us see how much this is feasible.

    Thank you 3pillarlabs!

    @dadahtml

    We got around this in 2 ways, both work but have pros/cons
    1) Sticky sessions. Works fine but harder to move traffic off of a hot node
    2) Storing php sessions in redis. Let’s you spread sessions out as you spin up nodes but is a single point of failure

    We would have rather used #2 but for other infrastructure reasons went with #1

    Hope this helps
