Use slider name/title instead of id in shortcode

Hello,
We have a multisite installation (total of 5 sites). The home page is a little bit different so there I would like to use do_shortcode in the template file.
The only problem is that the people administrating the content on the site can not access the theme files and can not put in the right id when they create the slider for the homepage.
The instructions would say that when they create a slider for the homepage it should be named “homepage”. Is there any way to put in the name of the slider in the shortcode instead of the id?
