Support » Plugin: Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons » Use “shortlink” instead of “link”?

  • Resolved derekbaker

I’m letting my custom URL shortener domain (used with Bitly) lapse; it didn’t shorten much and didn’t get enough use to warrant it. But rather than share the permalink URL, is it possible to set it (either in USM or elsewhere) to use the shortlink? That’s typically as short or shorter than my custom Bitly link anyway. What I’m hoping is that it is something as easy as Check out this article «${title}»: ${shortlink}. Or, maybe in conjunction with another plugin, e.g., JetPack, the {link} can just default to the shortlink? Wanted to ask here before I start exploring elsewhere.
