    Hi,

I have a few already existing database-tables (holding records for a book-collection). I would like to add/edit records from within WP, using Pods.

That would require me to work in reverse order, eg create the extra fields with Pods and then “connect” these to the already existing table-columns.

    Is something like that possible?

    Regards, Erik

That’s a feature we are considering making an add-on for in the future. Pods has the capability to do this but it does take a bit of effort to get it hooked up.

If you are interested in getting help with that, you can let me know if you’re interested in some paid custom development work or you can look over how I did it in the PMPro Pods add-on at https://wordpress.org/plugins/pmpro-pods/

Thank you Scott, I hope you/Pods will decide to make that add-on, I think it could be a very usefull addition to many (including developers).

I will take a close look at the PMPro add-on. I was also thinking of trying the “Table Storage” add-on, create all the needed extra fields that correspond with my book-collection table, and then import all the records into the newly created table. No idea if that would work though.. I may decide to ask for your help when things are getting too hard for me to accomplish.
