Support » Plugin: Pods - Custom Content Types and Fields » Use Pods to automate our “memberships”?

For several reasons, I have yet to find a “membership plugin” that works for our (probably unique) membership situation for our site.
We currently have a very cumbersome task, of manually going through all (approx 300) users – one at a time, and marking them as ‘paid’ – or ‘expired’, and manually changing the user role for each expired user.

I would really like to automate this – at least as many parts as possible . . .

What I would LIKE to do is:
On our expiration date we would:
    – create a csv list of paid users . .

Then, I would like to have Pods help us to automate:
    – mark all paid users as “paid for current year” (in their user profile area)
    And:
    – change the user role of unpaid users – to ‘expired’ role

Could Pods be used – to help us do this?

I fully understand that it may be a complex project – for ME to set up — although, I am willing to work at it.
But it sure would help — to know if this COULD be done with Pods.

Does it sound “doable”? – Or is Pods unlikely to be able to help us automate as I’ve roughly outlined here?
