Use Pages or Posts for representing projects

    I am making a website for a medium-sized non-profit, and I have committed to using WordPress as my CMS. However, I have run into a little bit of a snag and I am having a hard time determining the best way to do things.

    They have about 20 active projects and each project will have news items associated with it. At this point I am wondering whether to use Pages and somehow associate the news(Posts) with the project Pages, or is it easier to make the projects be Posts and used Categories to associate?

    The projects are somewhat time-independent but not entirely, and I want to use Posts because I can associate them to news items using Categories…

    Ugh. I am confused, maybe someone can help me out of the fog.

    It sounds like the best way to organize this might be to make a category for each project, and use posts for everything.
