Use other domains MySQL?\Share MySQL with other domain

Viewing 5 replies - 1 through 5 (of 5 total)
  • I have two domains.
One has 5 MySQL accounts and the other doesn’t even have the feature.
I want to run WP on the second domain.
So I was wondering if i could set up another account on the domain that has 5 and use it for the domain that doesn’t have any, and if so, how?
    Thank you

Probably not. The vast majority of hosts do not allow remote access to their db’s.

In other words, see if you have the ability to enable remote access to your databases (this is often a per-user setting). If not, check with your provider as to whether they offer it.

If they do allow you to remotely connect to a database on their servers, just make sure that you enter the correct DB_HOST into wp-config.php (it won’t be “localhost”).

I just spoke with my hosting company and they confirmed that it isn’t possible.
    thanks for the help anyways
