I wonder whether to send my users notifications of when I make a new post. I only realised today that WordPress does not automatically do that. But I can do it via a plugin it seems.

So is it a good thing to do? Got any downside? which of the plugins would be best for a tiny little used thing like mine?

    Hi @abrogard

You are correct that WordPress does not automatically send notifications to your users when you publish a new post. However, there are several plugins available that can help you achieve this.

Sending notifications to your users can be a great way to keep them engaged with your content and encourage them to return to your site. However, it is important to consider the potential downsides as well. For example, if you send too many notifications or if your users find them annoying, they may choose to unsubscribe or stop visiting your site altogether.

In terms of which plugin to use, there are many options available depending on your specific needs and preferences. Some popular options include Jetpack, Mailchimp, OneSignal, etc. I recommend doing some research and testing out a few different options to see which one works best for you and your audience.

I hope this information is helpful to you! Thanks!

thanks for that. what’s ‘too many’ ? i rarely write anything and I”m just thinking when I do make a new post, a new ‘article’, they should get a notification of that. Isn’t that what everyone does? How could you be giving ‘too many’ ? By writing too much? Like if you wrote every day? I can see that. I wouldn’t do it if that were the case. Or even if I wrote very regularly once a week, say. I’d expect they’d know. what do you use, can I ask you that?
