• Ahoy,

would there be the possibility to add the option to use a local image file (or any file really) until it has been synchronized to the CDN?

As an example from my case:

I have a web server cluster behind a load balancer (with sticky session set to 5 minutes), running a forum, and using an S3 bucket for forum avatars. When a user uploads an image for their avatar, it’ll end up in a designated directory which is listed in the “Custom File List” in the CDN options of W3TC, and subsequently the URL gets rewritten to the S3 URL.

The option “Export changed files automatically” is enabled, with time intervals set to upload.

However between the completion of uploading/synching to the CDN and the user finishing his upload, there’s always a few seconds gap, and in the mean time there will be the broken image symbol in place of the actual avatar in their profile.

Therefore the enquiry of an option to use the local image until it’s been synched to the CDN.

    Cheers,

    rs
