• I have been searching for an answer to this but can’t find a solution. The question was asked in another post a couple of years ago but there was no response.

I would like to add the gallery description as the meta description in the <head> section of the page. I tried setting up a template, assigning it to the page and adding the meta description (via a hook) but it appears the $gallery variable isn’t available.

I also tried adding the meta description from a custom NGG template but it appears it is too late to add to the head at that stage.

Is there a way to achieve this? Many Thanks!

@zerogravity – You appear to be describing the sequence as it happens correctly, the variables that do have access to that information are only added well after the point where they can be hooked back into the header.

It’s an interesting idea and you are welcome to suggest it here: http://www.nextgen-gallery.com/feature-voting/ but it may be some time before our developers put any time into finding a work-around / functional solution to accomplish this.
