Hi,

as a WordPress developer I have already developed some blocks as well as additions for existing blocks. Now I got from users the question why my blocks do not work in the app. A test showed: it really does not work.

Is there a way to use your own blocks in the app? Or to display additions to existing blocks there? Unfortunately, I have not found any documentation on this.

The code behind the app is, because of the platforms they’re developed for (iOS and Android), entirely different than PHP and JavaScript.

As such, every block you see in the app has to be rewritten for the app from scratch.

Currently the app supports most core WordPress blocks, and I doubt it will ever support third-party blocks. However, the app is open source, so you could maybe assist with implementing your blocks: https://make.wordpress.org/mobile/2023/04/11/contribute-to-the-future-of-the-wordpress-app/
