Support » Plugin: Really Simple SSL » Use at your own risk

  • This plugin want to stay on your website forever (I suggest you do it manually without using a plugin, its one-time work), Because in case if you need to uninstall this plugin, this will cause major errors such as it will delete your htaccess file and revert back to all to HTTP this will cause major issues. beware of this plugin, this will work charm until you find out it wants you to depend on it and want you to pay for it forever. The free version only does basics.

If you want to uninstall but keep your site on https, there is an option in settings/ssl called: “deactivate but keep https”.

You used the “deactivate (revert to http)” link. To prevent such issues I have added the (revert to http) warning.

On deactivation, the plugin will not delete the .htaccess file. It will remove the entries made by the plugin, if the .htaccess redirect was enabled.

The issues you were experiencing is because your browser will remember the 301 redirect to https. Clearing the browser cache will resolve those issues.

If you run into any issues with this, you can always request support, which we are always happy to give.
