Support » Plugin: Forminator - Contact Form, Payment Form & Custom Form Builder » Use answers of a form to populate another form

  • Hello !

I want to use three forms on a website.
The first one is to ask an authorization to a committee, the second one is to share an opinion between the members of the committee, the third one is to give the answer to the claimant.

I want that the form1-id will be pre-populate in the 2nd form and in the 3rd form. I also want to have the name and the email pre-populate in the 3rd form from the first one.
I thought I just had to do that : https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/wpmu-dev-plugins/forminator/#pre-populate-form-field-values
But I do not have the + at the right of the “URL” field so I can not do it.

If someone can help with an other documentation for pre-populate fields, thanks in advance.

    Hi @vfavrat,

I was checking this from my end and it seems that there have been some changes with pre-populated fields in the plugin since the docs were written.
I have pinged our devs and docs team to check this further and see what might be going on so hopefully we’ll have some good news soon.

Thank you for bringing this to our attention!

    Cheers,
    Predrag

So I’ve gotten an update from the devs and they will check the missing button but adding the values manually will still work fine.

You can get the field IDs from the Fields tab, for example:
    https://monosnap.com/file/QTRxdLrvkfG31nQeOuXSnJxekwGzET

And when you use that in the URL like on the example in the docs it will do the trick.

    Cheers,

    Hello !
Everything is working now as it is explained, but what I want is to pre-populate a field later, not just after submission.
The first form is submitted by a “visitor” and the second one is submitted by an “admin”.

    Is it possible ?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi @vfavrat,

I’m afraid that something like this is not possible out of the box, pre-populate can only be done by submitting the current form and populating the values in the second one.

Something like this would require custom development and you can check our API Docs that might help with that:
    https://premium.wpmudev.org/docs/api-plugin-development/forminator-api-docs/
