    Hello,
On the Sitemap page of Smartcrawl (Exclusions section), I put two URL’s that need to be excluded from the sitemap (the pages have been deleted). Further, I deleted the pages manually in File Manager, but the pages are still in the sitemap. Google doesn’t let you exclude individual URL’s anymore, so I have to delete the pages in the sitemap myself.

How do I delete URL’s if putting them in Exclusions, and deleting them in File Manager, doesn’t work?

    Thanks,
    JL

    Hello @james377 ,

    I’m sorry for the delay.

I have tested on my site excluding URLs and I was able to exclude one without any issue.
Can you show me a screenshot of the Exclusion filed where you have those URLs?

    kind regards,
    Kasia

    Hello,
Here’s a screenshot that shows the URL’s that are supposed to be removed from the sitemap. I can also send you the link to our sitemap, but I don’t know if I should put that link here (publicly).

Click here to see the screenshot.

    Thank you,
    JL

    Hello @james377

    I hope you’re well today!

Is the site at the same address as showing up on the screenshot in the “Extra URLs” option? If yes then I checked the sitemap there and none of the three excluded URLs are in that sitemap.

Should I check different site then or are you still seeing these URLs there? Please note that adding URLs in the option window is just one thing but the sitemap must also regenerate and in some cases cache should be cleared – so that might as well be the case here.

    Best regards,
    Adam

Update: The URL’s WERE removed from SmartCrawl’s copy of the sitemap after I deleted the URL’s in File Manager (from the sitemap) a week earlier. Thank you for your help!
