    Hi there,

we are using download monitor since several years and as others see issues with the last updates.
Most of them we could resolve, but we are still struggling with one:
We have some downloads linked to external sites.
This works on some and failed on others, when I try to re-enter the URL and save the URL just disappears and is not saved.
Any idea how to solve that?

    best regards,
    Martin

    Hey @antoniofourmark ,

Tried to reach the host but they don’t offer assistance in English and none of us speak Spanish. Same goes for their documentation. Could you please ask your host if the WordPress installation is a standard one or do they have redirects/shortcuts/special modifications for the WordPress files and directories?

    Kind Regards!
    Razvan

@raldea89 i did the installation myself using wordpress zip from wordpress.org so there shouldnt be any modifications on the files

Hi, I am having the same problem. I enter the URL in the ‘Add File’ section (I have tested the URL and it is fine.

    Here

But when I update and open the file I added, the URL has disappeared.

    Our site is https://kiwienzyme.com

    Thanks a lot, Roger

    Hello @antoniofourmark & @rjfnz ,

Could you please tell me if you have any plugin/custom code that handles the uploads/media library that could change the uploads folder path/directory ? Is is possible to give a list of plugins that you are using ?

    Warmly,
    Razvan

Hi Ravan, I found the solution for me. In the ‘Download Options’ I had to tick (enable) ‘Redirect to File’ Plug in is working perfectly now. THanks so much. Regards, Roger

    Hi @antoniofourmark,

It might be an issue caused by a plugin or your theme.
I recommend installing this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/
After you install and activate the above plugin it has a Troubleshooting mode which allows you to have a vanilla WordPress session, where all plugins are disabled, and a default theme is used, but only for your user – your visitors will still see the normal website.

Go to its troubleshoot mode and only activate Download Monitor and see if it works correctly with a default WordPress theme (Twenty Twenty-One for example) and no other plugins.

    Warm regards,
    Beatrice.

Installed new version of the plugin and its working for now, added a new download using the same pdf file from library and it saved it properly

Will check it out for a few days in case it stops working
