# URL Structure

 * Searched around but couldn’t find it . . . Url is by default structured [http://www.domain.com/wordpress](http://www.domain.com/wordpress)
   I don’t want wordpress to be in the url but just my domain.com. I could take 
   care of this with forwarding and masking at a domain level but would prefer to
   do it within wordpress if possible. Anyone???

 * Well, by default is NOT example.com/wordpress – only if the user uploads the 
   files into the “wordpress” directory. So, don’t blame WP for what you did.
 * Here is what the [instructions](http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress)
   say. if somebody cares to read it:
 * > If you want to integrate WordPress into the root of your domain (e.g. [http://example.com/](http://example.com/)),
   > move or upload all contents of the unzipped WordPress directory (**but excluding
   > the directory itself**) into the root directory of your web server.
 * Now, if you are stuck with that folder, you have some options:

 * Funny – in my first 5 min of searching the forums, I saw no less than 4 posts
   from you Moshu where you got all defensive about what someone had said. I figured
   you would be the first to jump on this and would have something harsh to say 
   before offering your 2 cents. I appreciate your help but you need to keep in 
   mind that if we were all web developers we wouldn’t be using WP in the first 
   place . . . .

 * Sorry bro – I guess I have forums all wrong. I thought they were for people who
   wanted help from from those who had run into similar situations before. Let’s
   face it, the answer to everything is out there but not everyone knows where to
   find it. I searched the forums and help sites and answered all my questions but
   that one. Ya, it was there all along and for one reason or another I missed it.
