 * I’m using a 2011 child. I was using a temporary URL from my web host, got the
basic homepage, some menu page and few more subpages done. Then tried loading
my real domain name, peterkobel.com. While that page appears, the menu tabs largely
don’t work, nor do the links to the subpages. I get URLs like [http://peterkobel.com/peterkobel.comarts/](http://peterkobel.com/peterkobel.comarts/)
   or [http://peterkobel.com/peterkobel.comscience/](http://peterkobel.com/peterkobel.comscience/).
My web host said that it may be something I did in WordPress. Can anyone help
me? I am pretty clueless. Thanks.

 * Have you checked your database to make sure your Wp-Url is setup correctly? This
is configured when WordPress is installed. You can change this configuration
in the database what the default URL is for your WordPress site.
 *   1)  In the cPanel, choose phpMyAdmin icon and, in left column, choose your
   WordPress *database.
      2)  Select the wp_options table on the left column.
   3)  Along the top, click the Browse tab.   4)  There are two records to modify.
Record #1 (siteurl) and #39 (home) (these can vary, but unlikely).  For each,
click the pencil icon to edit and change the option value to read the URL that
you intend your links to display, such as [http://domain.com](http://domain.com).

 * Thanks much for your response. I did check wp_options, and both siteurl and home
   read [http://peterkobel.com](http://peterkobel.com). So I still can’t figure
out the weird repetition of the domain name.

 * I would suggest resetting your permalinks. To do this you need to login to your
wordpress dashboard> click Settings on the left> click Permalinks on the left
   > click Save. After this is done please clear your cookies and cache and try
   your site again.

 * I did go in and change some permalinks. Thanks. They were screwed up in myriad
ways — I still can’t really figure out how or why. But I’m slowly getting it
   back together. Thanks again!
