URL filenames

  • I have just started to load up my site with images (I am a photographer) and have gone to great lengths to compose and insert image Titles, Alt Text (this is used for my catalogue) Captions and Descriptions. I have just noticed that the filename – as embedded in the URL is rubbish i.e. not carefully composed as the former. Does this matter, does the SEO look at the Titles etc. or the info in the URL
    Thanks

Alt texts are not meant to be used for SEO purposes. They are used when the pages are viewed using a non-graphical browser.

OK thank you. So your advice; what is best practice when configuring Alt texts, as in my case?

Ideally, your images’ alt texts should be a very concise description of the image in question.

Is there a quick way to change the alt texts ?

I think we at cross purposes here. I am taking about the file name – of course I know how to add alt texts.
