Your search plugin finds my um_directory and prints in search box (for instance) “Computers, IT and Technology” (um_ is from ultimatemember.com plugin)

You are sending this url:

mysite.com/um_directory/computers-it-technology/ – and it goes straight to the home page not 404

The UM plugin actually calls for:

mysite.com/members/?business_sector=Computers%2C+IT+%26+Technology&um_search=1

Is there a way to tell the plugin how to convert those url’s in the dashboard?

Hi,

The plugin requests the results URL via the get_permalink() internal WordPress function. Optimally, this should return the correct post type URL every time.

The only possible way to change the result URLs is via a custom code. I’m guessing that Ultimate member directories might need a different function to get the correct URLs(?). If you happen to know how to get the correct URL by the post ID, let me know, and I will construct a small custom code snippet to convert them.

These are called “User Tags” and yes have post ID. This is how the url is formed by inspecting the list. Hopefully this makes sense.

https://mysite.com/wp-admin/term.php?taxonomy=um_user_tag&tag_ID=954&post_type=post&wp_http_referer=%2Fwp-admin%2Fedit-tags.php%3Ftaxonomy%3Dum_user_tag%26post_type%3Dpost%26s%3Dcomputer

Hi Stu,

Well, that back-end link is leading to a taxonomy page I suppose, that won’t help in this case.

I am more interested in an actual um_directory result. Based on a um_directory page URL I might be able to tell.
