URL changes after removing protection; file does not exist error
-
Hi,
I’m trying to decide whether to use/purchase this plugin but I have run into a very significant issue with the free version:
If I enable file protection for a file, and then I unprotect the file, the URL of my file is now incorrect, and has gained an additional slash:
BEFORE PROTECTION, WHEN COPYING URL TO CLIPBOARD:
https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/myfile.pdf
WHILE PROTECTED:
https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads/_pda/myfile.pdfAFTER REMOVING PROTECTION:
https://mywebsite.com/wp-content/uploads//myfile.pdfThe extra slash does not appear for any other files in the media library–only for those that have had file protection enabled and then removed.
I cannot re-enable file protection at this point, because then I get a “file does not exist” error.
I’ve tried it in two different WordPress installations and it happened with both. This plugin looks like a great solution for me, but not if it causes file structure errors.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
