• This is a very easy query.
Firstly I want to say that my question does not refer to any existing problem, it is simply a “precautionary” question.
About a month ago, I realized I could change the default folder where the image files, pdfs, etc. are stored. This folder is, as you know very well, “wp-content/uploads”.
This folder contained all the files I have uploaded until then. But I decided to simplify the structure of the subfolders (uploads/2011/11 etc). So I decided from then on that the folder where the files are uploaded would be out of the “wp-content” folder is, that is to say, on the root directory. I called the new uploads folder “files”. After creating this new folder, I uploaded to the “files” folder all the files in the default “wp-content/uploads” folder.
Obviously, now the same files were in two different folders (the “uploads” default folder and the new “files” folder), so I decided to completely delete the “uploads” folder, that no longer exists.
This has not caused any problem, that I know. What I wanted to ask is if you can safely delete the default “uploads” folder in this case that, I repeat, I have no detected any problem.
I appreciate your answers and help.
