Hello all, I’m sure there is a simple remedy to my problem. I changed my WordPress site url, and now the images that were contained within the wp-content/uploads folder do not work. They are not found. On the new site, when you click on the properties of the unseen image, the URL for the image is still showing up as “http:/localhost/ whereas the URL should be the new site URL. Now I have changed my general settings under wordpress, and I have changed every instance in my database I can find to the new URL, but nothing seems to change. Am I missing something?? Also I apologize for not leaving a link to site but the site is heavily secured as it contains information for employees at company which I work.

The information in the section titled: Changing Your Domain Name and URLs might be of help.

    EDIT:

Maybe this information will help. I am not actually changing the location of files. The “localhost” I am working from is actually a Win 2008 Server. So all I am trying to do is change the URL from “localhost” to the domain name. When I change the site url and home url, I also change the database with the “Velvet Blues” plugin. However the pictures that I uploaded via wordpress (wp-content\uploads) do not work, for some reason the filepath’s still say localhost. But images that are hardcoded into the website work just fine?

    – Thanks Clayton for the links, I’ve read quite a few over the past few days, just seems whatever I do doesn’t change anything.

Sidenote: It seems if I export the database and open it in a txt editor. I can do a Find/Replace on the file replacing all instances of the localhost with the new domain. Except now instead of the pictures working (Login header, main header, user profile pics, etc) they defaulted back to either nothing, or a default gravatar.)

    I’m lost…Thanks for any assistance!

Ok so I found the issue to my problem incase anyone else needs the answer. The problem I was having was the programs that I was to change the database links were not changing any values that were serialized. I ended up using a problem called search and replace, from github that also worked on the serialized data in the tables.

    Thanks!
