• I created some graphics (a black box with pics and text inside) in Microsoft Word and I’d like to upload it to my blog. I have read several instructions from several sources on how to upload with a link, but I’m not interested in having a link. I have even tried manipulating the object in Microsoft’s “Paint”, taking a screen shot of the object and uploading it; however, it looks HORRIBLE. I simply want my black to appear in my blog–that’s it. Sort of like a picture. Can anyone help? This is extremely frustrating. Thanks.

  • Word does not work as a webpage – it’s not coded in the same way.

That’s where you are going wrong. MS Word is not a graphics application and it cannot produce images that are suitable for web use – on any site. Try creating your graphic in a graphics application like GIMP or Paint.net and saving it as a .jpg or .png file. Then upload it to your site as an image.

Wow! You’re right. I use word because I’m most familiar with it having used it for work quite often. I’m not a graphics designer nor an expert–I’m just getting by. Thank you kindly. I’ll try that.

If you’re not used to graphic applications, you might find Paint.net is the easiest to get on with. From what I recall, it’s free (as is GIMP). There’s also Inkscape – another free vector drawing application but, again, you might find it a little overpowering.

You’re wonderful! Thank you. Please stand by. I’m sure that I’ll need you again.–ha ha
