[Resolved] Uploading USDADatabase To WordPress SIte

  • I run a health/diet type website and am looking into uploading the USDA’s nutrient database into my site. This DB comes in ASCII format with relational files. I am curious if it would be possible to upload this database to a wordpress site and have each food type( ex, apple) have it’s own post. So, for example, somebody is looking for the calories in an apple could find the info on a post on my site. I plan on hiring out to have this done, but before I place the job out there I guess I am just curious if anybody has experience doing this and/or if it can even be done. Thanks!

    @catacaustic

    very awesome

    It can be done. It’s not something that’s really easy, but it’s no more comlicated then some other client requests that I’ve had to deal with before. All it needs is parsing the files and extracing the content. Should be easy enough for someone with a bit of experience.

    Thanks for the reply catacaustic!
