Support » Fixing WordPress » Uploading (overwrite) website from adobe muse to old wordpress site.

  • I am trying to upload a website i made in Adobe Muse to a domain that is now hosted by WordPress. My clients old website was created in muse, and i do not know how to remove/overwrite the wordpress website (i have all the log-in information about the wordpress site). When i upload the new website that i made it is not uploaded to the right domain, but on http://www.example.com/index.html. Do anyone of you guys know how to handle this problem. Btw i have no experience in wordpress, so please bear with me 🙂

Are you saying the site is hosted by WordPress.com, or is it a site running WordPress.org software?

Providing the URL to the site would be helpful.

If it’s hosted by WordPress.com, you’ll need to pick a different host and change the DNS records for the domain to point to the new host.

If it’s a WordPress.org installation, then you can delete the files and database for WordPress and then upload your files for the new website.

    Hey Matt,

The website is http://www.vildskud.dk (and the website im trying to upload, is on this domain http://www.vildskud.dk/index.html )
I am pretty sure that it’s just a WordPress.org installation since im uploading through http://www.one.com.
So if i delete the current site through WordPress.org i should be able to upload the new one to the right domain?

Since you’re moving to a new server and changing the domain name there are specific steps you need to take.
