Working with this awesome plugin and it’s given me all of the functionality I need.
Now I’m just trying to change the presentation with a custom CSS.
I’ve followed the instructions in https://icalevents.com/3591-custom-css-for-event-lists/ but cannot get the css to register.

My understanding of the process is the that file gets uploaded to a specific folder.
It is recognised by the plugin and appears in the drop down under the settings heading “Styling and Images”.
The drop down is titled: “Choose plugin default css or choose a custom css and edit it.”

I have downloaded the icallist.css – modified it – renamed it and uploaded it to a number of folders called upload (as well as the original location inside the plugin)

In all instances I am not seeing the modified file available in the drop down.
Does anyone have experience in this process?

    HI Casey,
It expects to find it in wp-content/uploads/css. This is not clear from the docs. I apologise. I just retested, it does work. The admin settings screen finds it, one can choose it. One must not have ‘use theme css’ ticked. Also then may need to force browser to refresh the css. In Firefox Control Shift R will force a stylesheet refresh.

THAT said, in the longer run, I think it is a better idea to handle any custom css same as any other, the wordpress way. It will also be more visible, better for maintenance. https://codex.wordpress.org/CSS#Custom_CSS_in_WordPress. I’m going to update the docs & plugin accordingly. If you do wordpress custom css, then tick the “use my theme css, don’t load plugin css”

Thanks Anmari – that folder did not exist on my site – which is why I couldn’t find it. As soon as I created the folder and uploaded the custom css it worked as expected.

I am a novice at css so I can’t say that how I got there is the only way, but I’ll describe what I was trying to do.

Firstly the page in now published at https://caseypanthers.com.au/club-calendar/

You can see that I’ve used the small calendar on the left which updates the table on the right. The first column in the table was very compact and I wanted to make this wider. because this is a shortcode inside an element of a column (using Avada I wasn’t able to use my css editor. Inspecting the elements I was unable to identify which css was impacting on the column width and by editing the icallist.css I was able to get the desired effect.

Now that I know which changes I had to make I’ll probably go and teach my self how to add custom CSS to my theme.

Thanks for all your help and support.

    Regards
    Casey
