    Hi All,

Seemingly straightforward but I have spent >3 hours trying to fix there error I am getting:

Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2015/08. Is its parent directory writable by the server?

I have changed permissions on folders via my DirectAdmin to various suggestions (775, 777 etc)

I have uninstalled and re-installed wordpress

I have manually created the uploads folder

I have gone to wp-admin/options.php and changed the upload_path to wp-content/uploads

And just about every other potential fix I have read about but still no luck. I either get the above mentioned error or some other form of error

    please help!

Site is christinevanderkaap.com if that is of any use

    Hi,

Have you tried speaking to your web host? This is a good first course of action when you have some types of problems that could be server/permissions related – especially if you have tried everything you can think of.

It could be something to do with the WordPress user in Apache not having the correct permissions.

I’ve got the same issue. Just started happening this month. I’ve currently got an open Support Ticket with my hosting provider. Hopefully they can shed some light on the issue.

Ok my issue was related to the fact that my host migrated my account to a new SSD server, in the meantime I asked to change my user account.

So the details stored in Settings -> Media showed path to Uploads

    /home/old*account/public_html/wp-content/uploads

    Changed it to

/home/new*account/public_html/wp-content/uploads and it works straight away.

I know you said you have changed it, but try putting in the full path rather then the relative. Some info I found on the internet said that worked for them.

I had the same problem with a similar resolution (I had changed hosting packages, the Media path was incorrect as a result). Thank you for posting your solution.
