# Uploading images

 * I am having a problem uploading images – when I use the ‘img’ quicktag, and enter
   the URL of my image, it doesn’t show up. I believe this may be because my webhosting
   service does not allow anonymous FTP logins for security reasons. Is there any
   way around this?

 * Did you upload the graphic to your website? Just using the img quicktag doesn’t
   upload the image. You still have to put it on your site.
 * The quicktag allows you to create a link to an image, andr the same image across
   many posts, or an image off your site – anywhere. It doesn’t upload them.
 * To upload: Admin > Options > Miscellaneous > File Upload
 * Or use an FTP program (you give it permissions so it isn’t anonymous).

 * OK.. I have a problem where my Uploads area gives me an error message:
    ” It 
   doesn’t look like you can use the file upload feature at this time because the
   directory you have specified (home/goochie/public_html/wp-content) doesn’t appear
   to be writable by WordPress. Check the permissions on the directory and for typos.”
 * Now, I understand that I need to ensure that I have changed the permissions on
   my FTP, which I have.. from 755 to 777 (on every conceivable WP related folder!)
   but still no luck! I’m still getting the same error message on Upload.
