• Heya there guys,

i’m constantly receiving errors when uploading .. the notorious
“Unable to create directory wp-content/uploads/2017/07. Is its parent directory writable by the server?” error

now i have tried setting the permissions to 777 with FTP .. no luck ,
also tried adjusting the upload folder in the MySQL , this only worked if i put the wp-content\uploads directly on the C drive. however when i upload images at that point they do not load into wordpress and i still can’t use them in the website..

anyone got an idea on how to fix this ?

the website is being hosted on IIS on windows server 2012 and i have full acces to the whole server and stuff

if you need mroe info please ask and i shall provide.

    Greetings

  • This is generally a permissions issue.

i have tried setting the permissions to 777 with FTP

The permissions of which folder? Note that the error mentions the parent directory, so the this info is important.

If sorting permissions does not work, look at wp-admin/options.php and ensure that the “upload_url_path” field is empty.

is set the permissions on the wp-content folder and all it’s sub folders

also took a look in the options.php and it is empty on both upload path and upload url path
