  • I’m trying to upload a theme I just purchase (Showtime). In the dashboard, I’m on the page where you can browse to upload a theme in .zip format.

    I keep getting an error message. Am I selecting the wrong file to upload? The theme is called Showtime, so I selected then click “install now”

    You need to upload everything in the zip file, do you not?

    Help! And thanks.

    I’ve uploaded and installed themes before, and didn’t have this issue.

  • Maybe the zip file you bought doesn’t only contain the theme, but instead for example a folder with documentation, copy right stuff etc. and a folder with the theme itself. Obviously you only want the theme itself to be uploaded

    As this is a commercial theme, we cannot really help. You need to seek support from the theme vendors.

    Yes, MindstateNL, there is some documentation included.

    Within the main zip file that I downloaded, there are 3 folders:

    1. Theme
    2. PSD
    3. License

    Within “Theme” folder, there is a “” file — that ought to be the correct file to upload — containing only the theme itself and no other documentation? (would I need to upload the other 2 items above as well?)

    I did that and still get error message. The host says check with WordPress, WordPress says check the Theme vendor…. I did send the theme creator a message but no reply yet.

    In general — does it sound like I am clicking on the right items?

    What error message are you getting?

    Have you unnzipped file and see what you have in there.

    You do need to upload
    2. PSD
    3. License

    This is the error message I get each time. I’m going to use FTP to upload it. If I do that, I go into the WordPress install, then I’m into the “themes” directory. What needs to go in here? Everything that came in the zip file, including the PSD folder and the License folder?

    Sounds like the problem is with your host give them a call

    I think I got it now….. maybe….. possibly…. we’ll see….thanks everyone!!
