I have a client who is wanting to build a WordPress site and they have their current site hosted by Suddenlink. WordPress installed fine and seems to function normally, except when uploading images. The uploaded file gets a file permission of 640, so there is no public read access, which results in a 403 – Forbidden error in the browser when trying to view the image. I can manually chmod the file to 644 and then the image is accessible. I believe this may be an issue with the host after googling around, but is there any way around this should the hosting provider fail to do anything about it?
As a side note, the NextGen Gallery plugin seems to work fine.
