Many of the users of my particular site are on mobile devices, and upload images to Buddypress with this plugin.

All is fine, but since mobile devices embed orientation data in EXIF, many images uploaded directly from device -> my website with BP Activity Plus display upside down, or sideways – because browsers are not yet natively supporting reading EXIF data (for whatever reason).

Safari seems to be the only one that does it proplery.

It would be useful if this plugin would read the EXIF data and rotate the image (and also clearing the orientation data after so a browser like Safari doesn’t re-rotate it again) prior to saving it on the server

    Hey @ftlralph,

    Hope you’re well.

I can’t give any promise about we will implement that feature or any ETA but I will share this with the team as a feature request. So if we decide to implement that it will be added on one of the next releases.

But if you want to solve this right now, looks like you need to custom development.

    Cheers,
    Oguz
