• Is there a way/plugin to view the list of files already uploaded onto the server?
I know that ‘file upload’ shows the file url after successful uploading, but it’s incredible to remember all the files I’ve uploaded in the past.
For me it’s not the big problem (but still a problem) to use an FTP client to find the files, and figure out their urls, but I want to create a web site for total beginner who know nothing about FTP, URLs and web design at all.

In fact I think this function should be built in, for example as a part of /Manage/Files section in admin panel.
Only a simple (recursive) list of files and directories in the upload directory, with filenames and urls. For images in place of urls may be even complete <img src=”..”> tags.

  • Wow – I was just about to post the exact same question. I’m a musician, and would like an easy way to link to my tunes from a posting. Obviously, an HTTP upload won’t work, ‘cuz these are multi-megabyte files. I’ve looked at a few of the WP upload plugins/hacks, but I’m not seeing anything quite like this. I’d like to see it as part of the “write” panel – something like a “browse for file” button that would open a browser window – click a link in this new window and that URL would be pasted into the text area.

    Any ideas?
