 * I have wanted to set up a blog forever and finally decided to go for it last
Friday. I followed along with startbloggingonline.com which I thought was going
well, got wordpress downloaded, ect. Then began trying to manage theme/preview
my site and I continue to get this message:
    “This site is under development
 * This page indicates the webmaster has not uploaded a website to the server.
 * For information on how to build or upload a site, please visit your web hosting
   company’s site”
 * I am not going to lie- not great with computers, so this could be something super
easy that I am missing, but I thought even those with little to no computer experience
could set these sites up?!?! Please help!!

 * Hi,
 * Who is your web host? If you sign into the site using FTP, what files do you
see in the root folder? Can you share a screenshot? It sounds like maybe there’s
a file overriding the WordPress index.php file.

 * Thank you so much for a response!
My web host is iPage. I do not know what FTP
is, or how to view files in the root folder (seriously, I’m sorry- like I said,
did not realize I needed so much computer experience to make a page!). What would
a screenshot of be most helpful?? [http://www.motherrunner.org](http://www.motherrunner.org)
is the site that I am trying to build, not sure if that helps??

 * If you’ve installed WordPress and are still seeing that page, it usually means
there’s an index file that’s overriding the index.php file which kickstarts the
WordPress site. Does iPage have some kind of file browser in their control panel?
If so, you could use that to get a listing of the files.
 * But, if you’re unfamiliar with all this, it would be best to contact the hosting
support and tell them that you’ve installed WordPress but still see that message.
They’ll know exactly what to do.
