 * Hi,
 * I’m getting the ‘ERROR: Google Drive upload error: Operation timed out after
   15000 milliseconds with 0 bytes received’ error today.
 * It’s worked fine previously.
 * This looks like a network issue perhaps, I’ve asked my host, but they want a
   Google Drive ip address to run a trace to ?
 * What can I give them ?
 * regards
 * Ian

 * This link: [https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2589954?hl=en](https://support.google.com/drive/answer/2589954?hl=en)
   gives Drive urls, but how do I know which server updraftplus is talking to ?
 * or is it the ‘Google Drive Client id’ in the updraftplus admin panel, which ends
   in: apps.googleusercontent.com ?

 * Hi Ian,
 * It could be using any of those, depending on the stage of the communication it’s
   at. Your hosting people would need to monitor the traffic to see what particular
   host it’s failing to contact. However, it could also be a transient network error
   that’ll go away shortly – does it happen all the time?
 * Best wishes,
    David

 * Hi David,
 * I’ve only just started to use UpdraftPlus a day or so ago and for the first couple
   of days it worked fine (btw: I have several large sites of 30-50 gig or so, and
   it works great out to Google Drive when the route is clear).
 * I’ll monitor it over the next few days and see what happens.
 * regards

 * Hi David,
 * After 6 days of backing up to Google Drive I’m seeing something weird, I’ve got
   the settings set to daily backups & retain 7 days, but only the latest 2 backups
   are found on Google Drive by the program, but Google Drive contains all of the
   backups ie so far: 6 days worth.
 * For example: I currently have backups listed for April 8-13, but only April 12-
   13 work the others give ‘error: download failed’, it seems to think I have only
   asked for 2 days of retention ?
 * I’ve uploaded the latest log file for April 13 from one of the sites:
    [http://www.mediafire.com/view/hpg2e4vzcbse1bn/log.fa12caffe6b6.txt](http://www.mediafire.com/view/hpg2e4vzcbse1bn/log.fa12caffe6b6.txt)
 * and a screen cap of what I see in the admin panel:

 * Hi Ian,
 * You’re saying that the ones UD can’t download are actually in Google Drive, and
   are in the same GD folder as the ones it can’t find?

 * Yes they are all there, GD still has all (now) 7 days of backups, but UD can
   only download the last two from the interface, the other 5 give an error.
 * This is happening with every site I have installed UD on.
 * Its backing up fine and they are all stored in GD, but UD can only find the last
   2 days (not 7 as set).

 * Hi Ian,
 * If you turn on debugging (in the ‘expert’ section at the bottom of the UD settings
   page), and then try a download of a problematic backup, then a log file will
   be created – which you can then either get from wp-content/updraft, or the ‘most
   recently modified log file’ link in the main UD tab. Please can you paste that?

 * Hi Ian,
 * I will have to try to reproduce this.
 * Do all your backups go into the same Google folder? Or different ones? (I’m wondering
   if, to reproduce it, I need to put a lot of stuff in the same folder).
 * Best wishes,
    David

 * Hi David,
 * They all go in the default ‘UpdraftPlus’ folder, there are currently 715 files
   in that folder (about 9 days worth of various UpdraftPlus site backups) – I backup
   about 14 sites using UpdraftPlus into that one folder.
 * If it helps I noticed that it wasn’t finding any files older than 2 days after
   about the third day, so probably only about 60-100 files in there at that point.
 * Also despite setting it to only keep 7 days – my Google Drive ‘UpdraftPlus’ folder
   still has those for the days before that (it still has 9 days worth of backups),
   should it be deleting the older ones ?

 * Hi Ian,
 * I’m wondering if the Google API that we’re using is only sending back a limited
   number of results when UD lists what’s in the directory. It could take a while
   for us to replicate this setup – would it be possible for you to either give
   us a WP admin + FTP login on an existing site that is connected to your GD, or
   to set up a blank WP install that is connected so that we could then get straight
   onto the problem?
 * > Also despite setting it to only keep 7 days – my Google Drive ‘UpdraftPlus’
   folder still has those for the days before that, should it be deleting them ?
 * I suspect this is the same issue – that for some as-yet-unknown reason, some
   of the files are effectively ‘invisible’.
 * Best wishes,
    David

 * Hi Ian,
 * Ah yes – forgot to say: david at updraftplus.com.
 * Note for anyone else reading this: please do post stuff in the support forums,
   and don’t go directly to using that address for personal email support: that
   doesn’t scale well, and you’ll probably never see a reply – it’s not personal!
 * Best wishes,
    David
