I have noticed that the upload time is changing when I replace an image. This throws off the order of the images, which is important to me. The plugin never used to do this. Wondering if it’s tied into your Shortpixel server – since I notice the time seems to match the revised time I see from Shortpixel (which I also use).

Can you please prevent this plugin from changing the upload time of the image?

    Thanks!

    Hi,
thanks for your message, sorry to hear that this newly added feature (as requested by another user) isn’t working as expected for you 🙁

Could you please downgrade to an older version (check the bottom of the page here) as it should work as expected by you?

    Thank you,
    Alex

It is fine in version 3.2.5 – seems to have been introduced in 3.2.6. In 3.2.6, when I replace the media file it changes the upload time. I’m hoping you can fix this. Thanks!

    Hi,
thanks for your update on this.

There isn’t anything to “fix” in version 3.2.6 as the way it works was the way that some users wanted. Please use version 3.2.5 for now if the image order is important for you and maybe in the future, depending on the requests we’ll receive, we’ll add the option to change or keep the original upload date.

Best regards & thank you for your support,
    Alex

I really hope you will consider this. It’s important to my work flow and I imagine it is to others. And when there’s an option to “just replace the file” that does more than that, it makes things a bit misleading, I think.

Was there a demand for to change the plugin to the way it now behaves? Curious about that.

I really hope you will consider adding an option to keep the original upload date. This change has ruined what was a perfect plugin for my workflow.

Well, “ruin” is probably too strong of a word, but it definitely makes this plugin less convenient and efficient in terms of use (at least for me).

@femur – thanks for explaining me your point of view. It makes sense. About the request: yes, it was how other users wanted it.
I’ll see how we can reach a middle ground on this. Thanks for your support 🙂

In the meantime please use an older plugin version as it shouldn’t have the feature that doesn’t help you.

Just pinging this thread because I am hoping you are still considering restoring this functionality to the plugin. Hope so!

In the meantime I am sticking with 3.2.5.
