Glad to help. In order for visitors to use the “Add Media” button to select images, the following criteria need met:
- The user must be logged in when submitting the form
- The user must have sufficient role/capabilities
Here is an article that explains more details. Note that it’s aimed at pro users, but the same infos about “Add Media” button apply to free version of USP.

Thanks for the reply,
I do not mean the average addition in the content of the post / that works), but in the cover image.
I’m logging in with the admin user
see here:

So you want to display the submitted file as a “cover image”, correct? If so, I’ll need to know what that is.. you mean the Featured Image for the post maybe?

but i would take the “Featured images” from the user gallery in wordpress, and if the image is not in the gallery i want upload it
for use it in another post also
Thanks for explaining. I think it may be a feature that is not currently supported. If it helps, there is an option in the plugin settings to enable automatic display of the “Featured Image” (located in the “Image Uploads” section). Also, maybe useful for you, the plugin also provides an option to “Auto-Display Images”, which when enabled will display any submitted images on the post.

the reason why I ask this is to prevent a user from repeatedly loading the same image. If he have already used it in another post he can use that. (taking it from his gallery)
The functions you mentioned to me do not help me in this. 🙁
I understand now, thank you. Currently what you describe is not included with the plugin.
