I know we have a couple open issues around WordPress 5.6 specifically and it’s my understanding that they’re doing a lot of work to help get things like jQuery more modernized. I believe they’re going to help address some things with the 5.6.1 release when that hits, so I’m wondering if this would be resolved at that point.

Links to our other pending open issues:

If not fixed with 5.6.1 or so, then it’ll be interesting to see what the source of the issue is.

Can you provide your CMB2 configuration for where you’re seeing this crop up at?

Hi, why the plugin hasn’t been updated for last 1 year, it is causing serious issues with the major releases of WordPress, I am using Homeo theme for listing website it recommends using CMB2 plugin for custom fields but it is causing serious issues because it hasn’t been tested, has you stopped supporting this plugin? Should I delete it from my sites? Please any help will be appreciated

@farhan07 what errors are you seeing? Have there been any opened issues for them? Would love to be able to help and see if we can resolve them for you, and confirm if it’s coming from CMB2 itself, or if your errors are from something else.

I actively continue to respond to support requests for CMB2, but have not really seen a huge influx of support lately, though it has trickled in at times. So starting some forum threads will help us confirm things.

We have had some recent-ish bugfixes and changes go on over at the GitHub repo for CMB2, but nothing that’s warranted a new release just yet.

Hi Michael Thanks for getting back, actually I am using this plugin on one of my real estate site with Homeo theme for WordPress, I have added custom fields using this plugin but when a customer fills in the listing fields and save and preview the listing the custom fields just don’t show up there is a demo text “sold” on all of them when I publish it only then the fields are shown, but they should also be shown on preview, I have debug the issue when I deactivate the plugin the preview works fine, It also has some conflicts with woo commerce, the continue to shipping button don’t work unless you deactivate the plugin

Also the wordpress repository is showing the plugin hasn’t been tested with 3 major releases and the plugin is no more supported by the author

Default messaging, because I assure you we do still support things. It also says “may not”, but that’s me getting nitpicky.

So, my first question for you @farhan07 is, is CMB2 installed as a plugin, where it’s shown on the plugins list page, and is it at version 2.7.0? Asking this because CMB2 is technically a PHP library that others can and have packaged up with their own products, and they don’t always get actively updated with that method. A quick example is just this week I updated a client who was using a 5 year old copy of CMB2, to the latest. It can happen.

Second question, which may tie in with the first one is, is the usage from the theme itself? or is this something you or a different developer added on afterwards to enhance Homeo?

Third is if the values provided into your fields are being saved and shown accurately when editing a post or listing, but not showing correctly when actually viewing on the frontend? In this case, it’s up to the theme to handle and output the values saved, in the intended ways. CMB2 doesn’t handle that part, it handles the UI and the saving to the database.

Hope this provides some direction and we can get yours figured out.
