Upgrading to WP 5.5 disabled The SEO Framework’s sitemap. And it didn’t replace it. I had a 404 error at the sitemap’s URL. I had to manually re-enable The SEO Framework’s sitemap.

It’s fine now, but I thought people should know.

    Hello!

Thank you for the heads up. This shouldn’t have happened–luckily, a toggle resolves it quickly. I’ll keep my eye out for similar reports. Cheers!

    Hi @cybr,

    just to double check:

    This …

“Support: When you enable TSF’s sitemap, Core Sitemaps are disabled. When you disable TSF’s sitemap, Core Sitemaps will become accessible again.”

… is implemented since 4.1 and live? Therefore if the sitemap in TSF is activated and I update to WordPress 5.5, the TCF sitemap is still live (and the WordPress one isn’t)?

    Thanks!

    Hi David,

Yes, that’s implemented in 4.1 and live. And yes, TSF will disable Core sitemaps when TSF sitemaps are activated. It will allow Core Sitemaps to work when TSF sitemaps are disabled (if those aren’t deactivated elsewhere…) — only one can work at a time 🙂

In the future, please open a new topic if you have a question. Every participant gets an email whenever someone replies, and that’s sometimes annoying to them. Thanks!
