# upgrading membership

 * Hi I currently have a site with 3 membership levels. If somebody has signed up
   to level one and wants to upgrade to the next level to extend their membership
   is there a way that they only pay the difference of the cost of the membership
   and not the full price? Currently the only thing I can think of is a discount
   code but seems wrong that it works this way.

 * Here is our script for prorating payments:

 * It uses the pmpro_checkout_level filter and some logic to figure out what kind
   of credit to give the user.
 * If you want access to the code without a paid PMPro membership, do a search on
   GitHub for the code.
