Upgrading from 3.3.2 to 3.4.1 (4 posts)

Each time I try to upgrade to 3.4.1 with the "Update to 3.4.1." button, it seems to download and install properly (username and password work correctly), but then tells me "Welcome to WordPress 3.3.2."

What can I do to actually update it?

    Have you tried:

    - backing up your database.

    - deactivating all plugins.

    - switching to the Twenty Eleven theme.

    - running the upgrade

Thank you - Yes, tried your steps, but no success.

    As it updates it shows:

    Downloading update from http://wordpress.org/wordpress-3.4.1-no-content.zip...
    Unpacking the update...
    Verifying the unpacked files...
    Installing the latest version...
    Upgrading database...
And then quickly says success to 3.3.2.

In that case try to make the upgrade manually.

    1. backup your website
    2. Download the latest WordPress from here
    3. Delete all WordPress files in the root except wp-config.php.
    4. Delete wp-includes and wp-admin.
    5. Upload everything except the wp-content directory.
    6. Once everything is uploaded, navigate to http://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/upgrade.php
