upgrading from 2.0.3 to 2.6

  • Hello Guys,
I installed a wordpress blog for a friend a few years (he promised me that he would do the upgrades…) a few years later he’s asking me to migrate it to the latest WP version.

I’ve been thru upgrade documentation material but i’m still unsure if the .sql file that i will create from 2.0.3 will be compatible with 2.6

    Any experience about that ?

    Thanks for your support.

  • Hello. This is the slow but sure way that worked for me.
    Upgrading Slow But Surely
As stated in there, just make sure you make a backup of SQL and files.
    Good luck.

It will not and it shouldn’t.
You make/save the .sql file for backup. In case that anything goes wrong and you need to revert to 2.0.3. You do NOT use it otherwise.
