 * I’m trying to understand how to upgrade from 2.7.1 to 2.8.2 since it doesn’t
   work and the upgrade dont work automatically I have to do it manually.
 * I already did backup the database and all the files from previous version that
   was online BUT my question is:
 * I have to delete all the older Wp files and upload the new ones from the folrder
   wp 2.8.2
    ThEn which folders I have to re upload with my plugin ins, templates,
   photos etc?The whole Wp-content?
 * Isn’t easier to delete from my server all the files But keep the wp-content instead
   and upload all new files wp 2.8.2 but without the wp-content?
 * Thanks! 🙂

 * 1. Delete **all files except **the following:
    - wp-content directory
    - wp-config.php file
    - .htaccess file
    - and any non-WordPress files and folders you had put in.
 * 2. Upload all latest WordPress 2.8.2 package files including wp-content folder–
   that way the default theme and Akismet get updated.
    3. Go to yoursite/wp-admin/
   and upgrade.

 * Automatic upgrade does not work on some servers (I still dont understand why).
   In any case, manuall upgrade is always suggested.
 * Follow the steps provided by Kichu and then restore the wp-content folder..

 * I got it and no probs…Since I’m on 1and1 I read in here to add this to the .htaccess
   file:
 * AddType x-mapp-php5 .php

 * Then it worked and upgraded automatically (finally!)
 * I’ll keep in mind the instruction above to upgrade manually ext time tho, Thanks
   so much both of you! 🙂
