# Upgradeing

 * i am very new at this and this is going to be my first time upgrading seeing 
   that my bestfriend and the the best admin has gone to be in paradise and i just
   want to make sure i get this right
 * 1.i back up the database from my godaddy account
 * 2.take off all plug-ins
 * download wordpress
    unzip it Go to my FTP(FILEZILLA) find my folder WordPress
   and overwrite everything
 * and keep the config folder from the old install and do
    have to do a import of
   data for comments and things like that.
 * please help me cause i would not want to ruin anything that we as a team help
   built.

   before you start. There’s links there on backing up — you might be happier if
   you back it all up **first**.

    WHERE did you read that?
 * Don’t rely on other “best friend” than the [Codex](http://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page):
   see [Upgrading_WordPress](http://codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress); also
   read the devs blog by scrolling up and clicking on “Blog”.
