Please read the sticky about 3.5
It has a way to check for javascript conflicts which is most likely what is happening.
I appreciate the info however, it doesn’t help me. That is no solution that I understand.

I have followed the instructions and I’ve got this:
Timestamp: 12/12/2012 05:11:03
Error: TypeError: e is undefined
Source File: http://xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx.org/wp-admin/load-scripts.php?c=0&load%5B%5D=jquery,utils&ver=3.5
Line: 2
How do I fix it now?
BTW to find your own error. Open the Widget page with Firefox. Got to Tools -> Web Developer -> Error Console -> Click on the Error tab.
Figured it out. A plugin was causing this issue. Disabled it for now.
Plugin Widget Logic Visual. Deactivated. Problem solved.
Thank you.
Thank you @mbenatar.
Deactivating Widget Logic Visual resolved the loss of widget control for me as well.
Can you please post a link to the widget?
I tried it all and nothing worked. I am not able to click on ‘insert media’, view the text tab, nor click on the widget areas of the widget page. I’ve disabled all plugins (and I only have two added: nextgen gallery and wp maintenance mode).
Try deleting the plugins.
When I tried deleting nextgen I got this error:
Fatal error: Using $this when not in object context in /home/content/29/5993229/html/otr/wp-content/plugins/nextgen-gallery/nggallery.php on line 540
Deleting or deactivating?
Deleting and saying yes, remove all files
