Upgraded to the latest nightly and boom

  • I finally upgraded to the latest nightly of 1.2b from 1.0.2 and I think I have most things working, except:
    1) My comments include is gone, not visible, nada … code hasn’t changed, but they are not there and concequently there is no way to comment on my entries.
    2) External links in my “asides” have my site’s url in from of them + backslashes before ” (smart quotes, but turning that off didn’t help nothing), weird.
    Thanks for any help/ideas.

  • I had the same problem with comments when I upgraded from 1.0.2 to 1.2. You will need to copy the php code from the new comment template to your existing comment template. All the code at the top of the comment template (before the line that says start editing here). For some reason that all changed.
As soon as I copied this code to my existing template, all my comment functionality was back. This is something that should be mentioned to anyone who wished to upgrade. Or maybe this could be a separate file that is included in the comment template. Making it easier to keep existing templates when doing major upgrades.

Thanks for the note — I have modified my copy of the file, and I’ve been working with 1.2 in a separate site, but hadn’t ported old site over yet.
