• I just updated my WordPress to 4.8. Everything is fine.

Then I update my plugins, which inform me that my PHP is 5.3 and should be updated. So I log into my cpanel and update to PHP 7.1.

Then I tried to visit my site and it says 500 Internal Error. So I reverted back to PHP 5.3 and the Internal Error is gone.

I tried PHP 5.6 and same problem.

Any ideas what’s gone wrong? I assume it’s a particular PHP setting, because that’s the only thing I’ve changed that isn’t created/supplied by WP itself.
