Upgraded to latest version, then lost a lot of stats

  • Greetings!

I have been using WordPress Popular Posts for 2 1/2 years and enjoyed it. I updated a day ago to the new version, but then my stats seemed to revert to numbers from a year earlier. I upgraded to the latest version of WP after that, and then found my posts and comments from Sept. 2011 onward disappeared. Well, actually, they were on the site itself and the Top Posts were still changing. But I couldn’t access them through the dashboard.

For whatever reason, the posts and comments issues were browser related and have been resolved (they’re back!), but the WP Popular Posts stats are still wonky. Is this a common issue, or is there a reason why this might happen? Rather surreal.

    Thank you for your assistance!

    Hi MisterIndigo,

What version of the plugin were you using before updating? Since I’ve been always using the latest version, I haven’t noticed anything unusual with the stats nor have received notifications about it.

    Hi Hector,

Actually the same thing has happened to me. Been using your wonderful plugin for quite a while now, I remember some of my top posts got 100,000+ views, but when I upgraded to the new plugin they all went down to 30,000. Any idea what could have happened?

    Thanks so much 🙂

    Renee
